Neuro Pain Relief Therapy
A FULL-BODY APPROACH TO PAIN RELIEF
A 16-Hour Continuing Education Course for OT’s, PT’s, & Other Health Practitioners
Taught by Shara Ogin, OTR/L, GCFPᶜᵐ, CEAS
Learn how to free your clients from pain at the source by implementing a full-body approach. This course moves beyond isolated, symptom-based treatment to give therapists a broader clinical lens.
Participants will learn practical somatic movement strategies and manual skills to help clients decrease their sympathetic responses, improve body awareness, manage pain, and restore efficient movement patterns.
This course is live, interactive, and features specific content dedicated to neuromuscular re-education and pain modulation and management.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Two daily Awareness Through Movement® lessons to improve your own proprioception, interoception, balance, and alignment — skills you can then transfer directly to your clients.
- A hands-on lab to learn manual techniques you can apply in session right away.
- A live demonstration on one of your most difficult-to-treat patients (selected for their level of pain).
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE?
Occupational and Physical therapists and other health practitioners who want to deepen their manual skills and expand their treatment approach beyond isolated, symptom-based care to address the root causes of chronic and neuromuscular pain.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, attendees will be able to:
- Identify and treat clients with neuro-muscular dysfunction from the root, taking a full-body approach and expanding the clinical lens.
- Apply manual techniques that support neuromodulation, including methods to shift the patient from a sympathetic-dominant state toward a relaxed parasympathetic state.
- Identify high-tonus and paradoxical movement patterns in patients and apply neuromuscular re-education strategies to improve motor function.
- Incorporate ergonomic and postural principles that support pain prevention and reduction for computer users.
- Significantly Improve Range of Motion (i.e. of neck), twisting, bending, and rotating (without typical stretching), and improve ease and fluidity of movement.
